The plot was too slow, the charachter development wasn't deep enough, the feminism too second wave. I was looking for a witchy fall read, but this didn't hit for me.

This was a slow and challenging read as I tend to prefer a faster pace and more lighthearted / fantastical plot. However, I am so glad I stuck it out as the ending was really inspiring and thought-provoking and held up a mirror to motherhood and relationships.

I think all baby mamas should read this book 🙌

Great book about the power and resilience of women across generations. The ending tied up a little too nicely given tone of the book, but very enjoyable read.

I enjoyed the tying together of several lives to tell a single story and the pacing of chapters was also incredibly done. It wasn’t a bad read but I’m not sure I would recommend it to anyone.

I did not enjoy that the plot could be boiled down to “three women suffer the story” the amount these people go through is makes sense for the time periods however seems a bit excessive and unnecessary for the plot to move forward at times. This book also had a “girl power” “feminism” message that reminded me of the strong empowered women music that you would find in the early 2010s, it feels a flat and little forced.
