So, November Book Club choice. As always I'm hesitant when it comes to magical realism but tbh this didn't bother me as much in this book. It was an average read. 
Yesterday when I read a long stretch, I turned to a friend who was reading besides me and said "Oh man, this reads like a debut novel, I bet it's a debut..." And it was.
It's a book that wants too much, as so many debuts do. Unfortunately it was utterly predictable and therefor not really interesting to me.

Was alright. Not a waste of time but at the same time I also wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
