I didn’t learn anything, and I think the desire to find concrete answers might actually be contributing to parent anxiety overall. This book was recommended to me as the parenting book to end all parenting books but I would strongly recommend “Hunt, Gather, Parent” for the scientifically and anthropologically curious

Hmm. This was a fast read in the fits and spurts that I read it. Very easy to understand.

But it didn’t hit home for me quite as much as Expecting Better. Perhaps because I read Expecting Better when I pregnant with my first so everything was very relevant? And now I have a 4 & 2 year old and am past a lot of the topics in this book?

A very comprehensive book on some of the most pressing issues young parent face in the first couple of years, what approaches to solving them exist, and which way the data points. I greatly appreciate the data-driven approach employed by Oster, and how critical she is in accepting research "findings", especially since many of the other parenting books out there are highly anecdotal.
Beware that in many instances the data can't answer the question sufficiently and you will be left to make your own decision after all :)
