I enjoyed Rafe and Shelby’s story but not as much as the other two.

This is one of those stories that you will wish you got a little taste of the history. You do get the feelings of how it affects the now in the book however and it is raw and intense. Between the hand dealt to Rafe and how it shaped his future and Shelby wanting to be that support for her brother, it is a heartbreaking story of broken trusts, love and so much more. There is heavy push and pull and loyalties tested in this story. I have to say it was mostly a raw emotional read on top of the romance aspect.
Overall, this is one of those stories that will have you adoring Rafe even if he is so broken, loving Shelby because she is a fighter and how much she cares about everything. It is a unique story with a lot of ups and downs!

Ten years ago Rafe Nolan made a choice, and it was one that had Shelby, and her twin brother hating him. Rafe Nolan has been through so much, and he clearly has his share of demons. These two have this pull towards one another that is so hot. I am no stranger to Sara Cate, and her Wicked Hearts series. This was everything I wanted, and more. I can’t wait for the next book! There is so much I want to say but I can’t without giving a lot of spoilers away. Just know this is definitely a book you need on your TBR lists for 2020.

I thought given this hero’s traumatic past, these characters and this story would be memorable. I was wrong. It was boring, tedious, and full of so many convenient plot devices it wasn’t funny. Also:

“You want my seed in you?” he breathes as he grips me by the back of the neck, pulling my face close to his. “Yes,” I pant.
😐😐😐
