3.5 stars. Definitely should have been 500 pages or a small series but interesting magic and plot. Pretty good

This book starts with a great ideas but falls prey to having too many things happen by coincidence. Everything just falls into place with multiple instances of the right person showing up at just the right time, which actually seems like a little lazy storytelling.

The book has a really great concept and the world itself is fascinating. I think the thing that everyone agrees on is that the book goes by incredibly fast, almost to the point where it feels kinda unbelievable that everything that went down in the plot happened within a couple of days. I think it would have benefited in spreading out the events into say, weeks or even months.
The characters also give off a sense of one dimensions because we don't spend a ton of time fleshing them out.
But overall it's a cool story and a really amazing world, that I'd love to see other books on different types of people and cities within the world to get more world building!

Rounding to 3.5 stars.
This book has a fantastic story line! Memories being used as currency is an interesting read. People who are gifted can access memories in different ways. It was certainly interesting to read about.
I read this book fairly quick, which is always nice!
A few issues I have with the book is that most of the events that occur are almost too convenient to be true. I found myself scoffing and rolling my eyes a couple times when things just so happened to work out for the best AGAIN.
I think maybe the story could’ve been stretched into several books and more obstacles added and it could’ve been 5-stars!

Just wasn't for me. I think the concept was totaly up my Ally but the pace was way to fast for what was happening. A conflic was introduced and basically resolved on the same page, there was basically no struggle, which led to a predictabl and kind of boring arc. In my opinion, this is an example of fast is not always best.
Interesting concept, but way underdeveloped. The timeline of this book would benefit by stretching to something more like four weeks instead of days. I can’t take a main character seriously who can completely change her mind about a perceive enemy in less than two sentences.

I found the concept really intriguing- but the execution is poor and the characters are hard to care about. all the “reveals” are very easy to guess, which is not something I normally would be too upset about, but in this case makes the book even worse and the world feel flatter and less believable. Again, a really interesting idea but I just found myself disappointed by it
Started good, went downhill fast. I typically enjoy books with some supernatural elements (I thank the movie Ghost for this
