Trigger warning for death of a loved one from anorexia, which I would have loved to have known about beforehand. I should maybe start looking up TW on books I want to read.

Mental health is a big focus in this book, with the main character having lost her twin sister to anorexia. I think the author did well to discuss it in a way that didn’t romanticise it and showed some of the dangers. I can see a lot of similarities with my own experiences. There is also mention of another character’s anxiety and discussions around medication which I think was good to include.

The story itself is a medium pace, and in parts, I expected a bit more to happen and things that were a little bit more thrilling. But it didn’t really take away from the overall enjoyment of the book.

I really loved the friendships in this book and the portrayal of them. Rowan is my favourite character and I loved her. There is just something about girl’s boarding schools and thrillers that I just love, and it’s always great when you can see some great friendships (even through all the arguments and fights).

I read this book fairly quickly, and even though it touches on some heaved topics, it was a fairly easy read.
