I think the only reason I didn’t give it a full five is because I feel like the romance was rushed too much. It was a bit too instant for my preferences.

Eh, this book was ok. There were parts of it that were good, but then it slowed down a bit, and then it would pick up again. Tbh the main character annoyed me a bit. I can’t put down what annoyed me. However, I’m not sure if I would recommend this book to people. 🫤

Just when I thought I had fixed my reading slump issue, I fell off the cliff again, with another series of books that just were not working for me. And while I wasn’t sure about Remember Me Tomorrow, as it’s very different from Farah Heron’s previous books, it sounded promising, as I’ve enjoyed books with “timey-wimey shenanigans” before, and this one being primarily a mystery made it really stand out in comparison to some of the others I’ve read before.
I was quickly drawn to Aleeza and Jay and their bond through messages via the ResConnect chat. While the mystery plot feels more dominant here than the romance (another first for Heron), the romantic development before they could physically meet was still very sweet with the funny banter. I was also deeply moved by Aleeza’s growing determination to find out what happened to him and bring those who caused his disappearance (death?) to justice.
As for the time-warp element, there isn’t a lot of explanation for this, but I think it works in the book’s favor. I definitely prefer the more fantastical approach, as opposed to trying to ground it in some version of our reality with science.
The plot had me engrossed from the initial setup, and I was as eager to find answers as Aleeza was. It’s fast-paced, high in intrigue, and a thrilling reading experience from beginning to end.
This was such a pleasant surprise, and I’d recommend it to readers who enjoy genre-bending books with a mix of mystery, romance, and speculative fiction/light fantasy.
