Who knew bird watching could be so cut throat? I loved the idea of a Nature Center full of eccentric birdwatchers on Fair Isle. Dude, I LOVE this series!!!
However - the ending was quite shocking and I wasn't prepared for it. I kept listening to the audio of this version and thinking that I'd misunderstood something.
Have I said that I love this series? Because I love this series!!

Something about Ann Cleeves' writing style pulls me into her stories as deeply as any author I've ever read.

A very disappointing (I think unnecessary) end to this one. Sort of sucks the life out of me wanting to continue the series.

Raamat oli vaatamata lõpule õigupoolest ju ikkagi hea, sünge, kuid huvitav...Ilmselt vihkaksin seda rohkem, kui ma poleks juba ette teadnud ja jõudnud juba ka mõttega harjuda :)

The unique setting, three-dimensional characters, and beautiful writing have made the Shetland Island mystery series one of my favorite contemporary mysteries. In the fourth installment, Inspector Jimmy Perez has brought his fiancé home to Fair Isle to meet his parents. The tiny island is a magnet for birdwatchers, who congregate at the lighthouse and local inn. When a local married celebrity with an eye for handsome young men is found murdered, Perez discovers suspects who are close to him. While I found the mystery engaging on its own, the book's ending was completely unexpected and left me in shock. I plan to read the fifth installment soon to find out what comes next, and have the sixth book lined up to read as soon as I finish the fifth one. If you haven't discovered this series yet, add it to your TBR list today!
