haunting, moves in and out between nightmares and a reality of mourning/lingering in past trauma. really appreciated the attention to space, and character reflection, but always felt detached from the main character. short and sweet italian beaut tho.

Sempre sul filone di Elena Ferrante, un'altra storia di una famiglia del sud che tenta di scappare. Scappare dall'isola, scappare dal dolore. Finché quel dolore, nascosto sotto il tappeto, prende il controllo di tutto e imprigiona, e immobilizza, e non lascia andare più. E allora con quel dolore devi farci i conti, e capire che forse è proprio quella mancanza a rendere egoisti, e forse è arrivato il momento di accogliere il dolore di altri. Forse è arrivato il momento di lasciar andare. Ottima lettura per la fine dell'anno, in cui il tempo di bilanci si fa più insistente.
