Its not bad, but i definitely liked it less than the first. Alex Silvera will always have a way with being able to make one cry at the end of his stories but I found myself brought to laughter at points from how confusingly strange some of the dialogue felt. The characters had amazing moments but at some times became static, repetitive, or just didnt blend well, like at one point where Valentino and Orion had an entire conversation about just cursing where Orion just kept cursing. I think it was supposed to be funny, but I was just confused. I also struggled to understand how all these coincidences could happen at once, such as our characters meeting tons of those from the original book or having the backstory, but I decided to look past this personally because I really enjoyed it. I will say, my favorite was the side plot about Rolando and Gloria, I just loved everything about their journey. They give me hope for the next book, in which I hope we get a bit more information on how Death cast predicts deaths since it felt like Alex was teasing us with all the talk of it in this book.
