Such a wonderful book.

This book clearly defines cultural diversity at its finest.

A series of spreads share how life differs in different countries without falling into stereotypes. Gouache illustrations are detailed but abstracted. The families could have shown more than heterosexual families.

I love this book! It juxtaposes 7 real kids in 7 different countries with vivid illustrations of their breakfast, what they wear to school, what comprises their family, their home, how they learn, etc. Kids will love seeing the differences (and similarities!) between themselves, a kid from Peru, one from Russia, Uganda, etc. This is exactly the kind of book my son loved when he was in elementary school. Great for use with the NYS Social Studies curriculum, elementary school.

intricately detailed and open-minded, interesting look in to the day-to-day lives of seven children all over the word. Highly recommend for ages 4-8.
