Loved it! I loved the story, I loved the references to 90s culture and TV shows (I probably missed some!)

Edit: After a re-read, this is 5 stars. I loved it. By the end of chapter 1, I'd laughed, read sentences out to my husband, and ordered my own copy (I was reading a library book).
Nina is complicated. But she brilliant. She's funny, anxious, bookish, and full of trivia. Phil the cat is amazing, everyone needs a cat like Phil to give advice.
I already want to re-read this to sit and investigate all the books mentioned.

It was a decent read. I had trouble getting into it and almost didn’t finish but, once I sat down and read more I finished quickly. (Less than 5 hrs total) It’s basically a rom com, some parts were really boring to read especially at the beginning. I probably won’t read this again but it was a cute, quick read overall.

Nina lives a very routine life: she works at a bookstore, plays trivia with her friends, takes care of her cat, and keeps her life in balance. When Nina’s father suddenly dies (who she didn’t even know existed!), she is introduced to his giant, multi-generational family that she also never knew about. It becomes a little hard to keep her life in order when this new family all wants to meet her, the bookstore is suffering, and a new, cute guy from Trivia wants to date her!

This book is such a cozy read, and I think many of us introverted readers will relate so much to Nina! Like her, I would much rather stay at home in a comfy chair reading than have to interact with strangers 🤢

As much as I wanted to love this one, it fell a little short. I think there was almost too much going on, and with this giant family, it was hard to keep them straight or actually connect to any of them. It felt too divided with the family drama happening in one section and the romance in another. I would have liked to see a bit more fluidity.

Overall, this is a cute story and would be best with a cup of coffee or tea and a pet nearby to cuddle with.

⭐⭐⭐💫
