Xmas Break is a quick paced thriller that I couldn't put down. There is no way I could have spread this out at a chapter a day and winter is the perfect time to pick this one up.
Set in a smart home during a heavy snow storm estranged sisters Isla and Clara and their husbands sit down to a Christmas Eve meal. Tensions run high from the first page and I was gripped by the intrigue of what had happened in the past by the end of the first chapter.
I loved the pace of this book and felt that the story flew as it developed. I would have like to see some of the plot points that were mentioned fleshed out a little more but it's not always possible in a novella.
An easy, atmospheric winter read I'd recommend to thriller readers with a few hours to cosy up and enjoy.

Quick and easy read! I really enjoyed the story line and loved how it all ended.
I'm having so much fun with these creepy Christmas stories.
I know this sounds bad but whatever, this one was a little too happy for me. I just feel like there's sooooooo many typical Christmas books/movies/media out there, if you're gonna write a thriller, really go for it. Still a super quick and easy read though.

I received an E-ARC copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review:
I really enjoyed this short little Christmas/thriller novella.
I feel thrillers are extremely difficult to write in so few words because of the lack of space to build up that suspense and plot, so this was very well done! I enjoyed the plot and characters and the ending was perfectly cozy for a Christmas read

I would have given it 4 stars. I actually enjoyed the book. However, the ending, was not it for me. I was hoping for more I guess. Still enjoyed it though.

I’m not going to lie… this was not great. I’m actually not impressed with how it was set up as an advent read when 3/4 of the book had nothing going on. This should have been a regular thriller but… revised
