I really wanted to love this. I love Dolly so much, and am a crazy country music fan, but sadly these facts didn't make this book a stand-out favourite. A perfectly fine read, but not one I'll treasure forever.
This review is for my own benefit: it wasn’t terrible to listen to, but the whole time I was wondering why she didn’t just tell her “secret”. The people coming after her CLEARLY know where she is, but she keeps acting like she has no care in the world. And then the ending was extremely anticlimactic. It was pretty dull. I don’t know if I’d recommend it.
Also, I think the “she hates to be called ‘little’” thing was a bit overplayed. We get it. She hates it.

3.5 stars maybe. Fun enough. Listened on my road-trip and it was lovely to hear Dolly read, but man, they missed a real opportunity not having any music/singing in an audio book with a Dolly Parton.
Started this audiobook because of Dolly Parton. I finished it because it is such an amazing listen! The storyline is amazing when paired with Dolly Parton and the other narrator’s.

Ok so this isn’t my type of book but I know that now. I really struggling reading this and it’s taken me a really long to to get it done.
I found that the story just dragged on and finally got interesting in the last 100 pages.
