Dolly needs to stick to music and James needs to stick to his mystery thriller type books. I forced myself to finish the book. The story line just drug on with no real path. Not the worst book I’ve read, but not the best either. Highly disappointed.

I was entertained because the main character is a strong woman like Dolly Parton - and that kept me reading. Credit Dolly with coming up with a complicated plot that makes sense. This was an entertaining audiobook.

Best to listen to this story on audiobook. A great production, im not sure I would have enjoyed as much reading it. Slow start but an enjoyable story.

I had to read this one even though I'm not a huge James Patterson fan, who can resist checking out what Dolly Parton writes?? Sadly it was just okay for me. An aspiring young singer/songwriter trying to make it in Nashville is running from her past and gets taken under the wing of a Nashville legend (aka fictional Dolly Parton). A bit of romance and some suspense. Overall it wasn't super interesting for me. I did enjoy the audiobook with an ensemble cast, including narration by Dolly herself. If you are going to read this book I definitely recommend the audiobook!
emotional inspiring

Couldn’t make myself finish this. Abandoned at page 200.

Took me a minute to reacclimatize myself to the quick resolution style of writing James Paterson has, and the multiple narrators in the audio version in a unique style. However, it had a good underlying story. Annie Lee Keyes flees Texas for Nashville in hopes of becoming a country music star. She quickly learns she is one in a million. When a legend takes Annie Lee under her wing, her world is about to change, unless people from her past decide to drag her back home instead.
