I’m sorry but this just wasn’t good.

“If you’re big star bound it’s a long hard ride…” The Ride by David Allan Coe
That’s what was playing in my head as I read this book. Success in Nashville is earned by talent, grit, determination, perseverance, and a great deal of luck. AnnieLee is a gifted young woman determined to make a future for herself. She won’t let anyone tell her she can’t. This book will immerse you in the side of the music business normal folks don’t see. It certainly isn’t all glamor and glitz.
AnnieLee is the mystery in this book and when you find out her story it will make you think. I loved Ruthanna and Ethan and really enjoyed the ride.

Really enjoyed this book and look forward to listening to the songs. Dolly Parton is so amazing.

I was very disappointed to greatly dislike this book. I love suspenseful or emotionally filled books. I also love dolly so I desperately wanted to like this book. I didn’t find it suspenseful really at all. The most suspenseful part starts the book before a flashback so I was just waiting and waiting and waiting for that part to come along again. There were defiantly cute moments but I didn’t feel moved once while reading.

Probably a 3.5 but bumping that score up because of DOLLY <3<3<3333333! Also fun to read a story set in Nashville.

Book club June 2022 read - did not finish, gave up around 20%. I wanted to like it because it is set in Nashville and listened to the well narrated audiobook. However it was extremely boring and felt like a waste of time when I have so many other things I want to read.
