This was such melodramatic, poorly written drivel. Like if a bad lifetime movie was a book. The story kept me just interested enough to not DNF this

A light hearted and big hearted book.
I may be the minority, but I absolutely loved this book. Mind you… I hate miscommunication thropes. 90% of the book could have been skipped right over if Annie Lee was open and honest in the beginning. Why would she keep the secret that was keeping her hostage?
That aside, I laughed a lot. The struggles and mysterious aspect were broken up with good puns and witty snap backs. Is it realistic? Maybe not. Could the writing style be better? Maybe. But overall, so good.

I found the story line pretty boring. Got a little bit better once you’re about 80% into the book. 3.5 ⭐️
2.5 but giving it a 3 in appreciation for the original songs written to accompany the book.
The story was okay, not enough of the thriller that I expected. Highly recommend the audiobook version if you do read. The multiple actors reading the parts really elevates the story.
