Dolly Parton is an angel sent from above, and this book is.. fun? I have no idea how to rate this, as it wasn’t necessarily good. The first 90% of the book gives big early-2000s chick-flick vibes, with a Mary Sue main character who is sleeping under a tree one day and the very next day has a record deal and is hanging out with superstars because she’s just so *perfect* and her voice is ~unlike anything anyones ever heard~
Then the last 10% it was like they forgot this was also marketed as a thriller and they gave us the most half-assed mystery and explanation ever? I literally filed this under “feel good” as I was reading it, forgetting that it’s a “thriller”
So… as chick lit and fun, this book did its job, but if you’re looking for a good mystery, then look elsewhere!

This was an entertaining read, not a typical James Patterson book but I definitely see Dolly's influence (and who doesn't adore Dolly). It's more a book about making it in the music industry than thriller though and that was a bit disappointing. Still enjoyed it and would recommend it, but it wasn't what I was I was expecting. My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a galley of this book for review. All opinions are my own.

i wanted so badly to like this because dolly parton but it just wasnt interesting
felt like the writers couldnt focus on one thing to write about so all the plot elements were just mixed together and ended up not really having much significance

This was a cute book with a catchy story. I couldn’t get to the end fast enough! It really captured me and was an easy read. A nice change from the complex books I’ve been reading lately

Loved listening to this with queen Dolly herself reading some parts!
So cool to listen to a soundtrack along with the book
Story was good it kept me on my toes and wanting to keep listening
Dialog was a little flat and story slightly predictable but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the ride
