This book was meh? First of all, why did they call this a thriller? This didn't have a lot of suspension or anything. Second: the main character was okay. A bit witty, but not very likeable or interesting.
When the boy she likes opens up to her, she doesn't. People are wondering why she is the way she is.
The plot? She gets help from the most famous singer, just like that.. and the ending.. Why she's on the run is a bit farfetched for me.

I listened on Audible. Annie Leigh chases her dream to Nashville where she encounters Blake who takes an interest in her, introduces her to a retired country star and her whirlwind of success begins a little bit to easy in many respects. However, Annie Leigh holds a secret. She's not who she says she is and the book leads us through the journey of find out the secret that will either redeem her or kill her. We are toured through the life of what a rising star might expect to find on their journey to stardom, and in Annie Leigh's case, we are given tiny clues into what lurks behind her and who Rose might be.
I enjoyed the story. It might be a little long-winded for the non-country fan but, overall, it wasn't overdone. Blake is a bit of a hero as we would expect, the story doesn't harp romantical, and it gives a sense of how easily social media can aid a stalker persona. To me, it was great. I'd recommend it.

This story was so underdeveloped it was beyond disappointing! Ethan’s story and Annie Lee’s story are just surface grazed. The rest of the book focuses entirely on becoming a country music star. Thriller? Not in the least the way it was executed.
