This was the first James Patterson book I have read, so I don’t know that rest of his books are like. But I enjoyed this one written with Dolly Parton. I’d say that the “thriller” part was fairly mild over the whole story. I’m a sucker for romance stories so the blossoming love story between AnnieLee and Ethan kept me reading even when it got a little slow.
Moderate: Physical abuse, Violence, Abandonment
Minor: Child abuse, Gun violence, Toxic relationship, Trafficking, Grief, Injury/Injury detail
Quite slow and I didn't care for the setting

Honestly, if Dolly Parton's name wasn't on this, I wouldn't have read it. There were many times where I was like, "if you actually just talked to each other things would be fine."
Graphic: Violence
Moderate: Domestic abuse, Trafficking, Medical trauma

Enjoyable read and fun to listen to Dolly's album from the book. The ending was a bit far fetched.
This book is extremely well written and I enjoyed following along. However the ending felt very rushed and like it was forced to wrap everything in a nice little bow. Up until that point I enjoyed the chase and the little hints placed along the way. The story is over all amazing and well worth the read- just be aware it’s going to have the “perfect” ending.
Love Dolly, so likely some bias here, but this was a fun read. Mostly focused on the singer songwriter trying to make it, which I enjoyed all the music stuff. The kind of mystery thriller aspect was very back story and wrapped up quickly at the end, so not really great if you wanted some master suspense there, but overall a good collab- now to listen to the cd.
This was such a fun listen! A little bit of romance, a touch of mystery, and some thrill! I also loved the little nods to Dolly and her life and personality.
Leuk boek maar moet zeggen de spanning komt echt pas de laatste 50 bladzijdes had wel eerder mogen komen. Had het boek minder langdradig gemaakt en een stuk spannender.
Solid. Interesting mystery, kept me turning the page.
