I had such high hopes for this one, but really struggled to feel invested in the storyline. I loved hearing Dolly's voice as a narrator-that was probably the biggest upside for me. The first 75% of the book was mainly focused on AnnieLee's pursuit of becoming a country star with a little bit of romance and mystery. I came into this expecting it to be more of a mystery/thriller, but we didn't get much of that aspect until the last 25% of the book. I think if I knew that coming into the book I would have enjoyed it more. If you love music, especially country music, and are interested in a story about rising to fame and overcoming hardships, this book is probably a good choice for you.
