I'm a big fan of the movie that has little to do with the source material.

Mina's character development being that she might have sex with Quatermain is very disappointing

  but I do like the characterizations of these literary icons.

I had high expectations for this...could barely get through it. All the triggers aside, the storyline simply wasn't that well written, I don't really understand all the praise.

I wish I could read this same story told by someone else, without all the unnecessary sexism and racism that go well beyond just depicting historical sexism and racism.
