A sharp, impressive debut that takes a familial magnifying glass to our personal and public choices and how they align with — or chip away at — our values. An easy and enjoyable read at just under 300 pages, Harris uncovers the little concessions and justifications we make in the name of sleeping at night.

The main themes of the book were so promising but si poorly executed. Every characters were flat and deeply lacked of depth - even the story.

It felt like reading a 300 pages synopsis

Aside from Gabe, the characters were really grating to me. I do not like storylines with adultery.

This book feels so timely with the election and the divide of the country with politics. This book explores so many topics from different political views in a relationship and marriage in crisis. There'a a lot going on between Gabe and Ethan's relationship and Ethan's political aspirations to Nicole's questioning her role as a wife and reconnecting with Kate.

The story is well done and added a lot of humor with Ethan and Gabe's daughter. I found the story entertaining and Gabra Zackman did a great job with the narration.

Thank you @bookclubgirl @williammorrowbooks for a copy of the book.
