Okay, I did like this book. I won’t say to much because I do not want to give spoilers!! It is told in three parts. Amber has a plan to befriend Daphne Parrish and take over her life and become the next Mrs. Parrish. She has some secrets in her past but she comes to find Daphne has dark secrets of her own. Half the book is in Amber’s POV and the whole woe is me, I grew up poor, I’m going to take everything from you rich people was getting old. It was just drawn out for me before we got to Daphne’s POV and twists. I also would of liked a different ending.

Usually if I don’t like a book I just don’t rate it, I don’t like to belittle the work that authors have put in. This book was something else though.
The whole first half was such a dredge to get through but I had a theory from the second our annoying, toxic, and honestly boring narrator met the women she wanted to be, and I wanted to find out if I was right. I was. Is that just cause I read and watch too much domestic thriller crime drama type stuff or was it genuinely that obvious? Idk maybe, I’ll give that the benefit of doubt.
But then even once the twist was out, the treatment of the subject matter as a our narrator getting what she deserved was just shameful of the author. Even the tagline says that “some women get what they deserve”.
This story could have been good, the bones were there, but it just didn’t work for me.
And this rant is why I don’t normally write reviews.

I have a question.
How did Amber pay for all her trips out with Daphne from the beggining, after telling us she can barely afford her own apartment? Obviously it's mentioned that sometimes Daphne would pay. But what about the other times?
The twist was unexpected for me, And Amber was a character who I liked, and it's rare that I come to like a 'baddie'. It feels like Amber is the person who feels everything that we are not supposed to feel and shares it in the narration well.
I would have loved to have seen this book end with the heroic take down of a monster by two absolute Queens. Alas, that's not the route whe writer took, which was disappointing.
