Too much going on; too convoluted.

Enjoyable, fast-paced thriller. Perfect for holidays, not my favourite in the series but the reveal and ending made up for it.

This is a dirty and dingy book. I enjoyed it a lot, finding the twisted logic Nesbo employs in his narrative to work well, but there is a dark film over the ending that I think moved the book along really well. It was a curious story to tell, bringing Harry back to solve a murder that seems like a set up and is, but in a different direction.

This is by far my favorite Harry Hole novel. As usual Nesbo kept me anxiously turning pages wondering how it would all come together in the end.

I've read the HH series way out of order but this might be my favorite. I honestly thought the Snowman was pretty hokey and disliked it. If you felt let down by it, don't give up on the series. This one is good and has the most funny dark humor moments.

Things just never work out for Harry, do they?!

I actually really enjoyed this one. The format was really fun. I decided to tab this one with every new character introduced and I’m glad I did. Considering it’s a book widely based around past characters there is still a lot of new ones (not as many as the last book)

The scene where Harry is having a fight with someone and it’s flicking between their pov’s was really well done and I haven’t read anything like that before.

I think reading the series back to back is good because I don’t know if I would pick them up sporadically, but it does make highlighting the similarities between the books easier and it can get a bit samey.

This one I did guess (again, kinda) but mainly guessed it just based on the premise and not the whole drug related side. I really liked the reveal in this one.

I’m also mad because after reading the end of this one you will realise why I had to look something up. And then I got a massive spoiler about Knife but who else can I blame but myself :/.

Great book. I've not read these books in order at all and I need to go back...the story is disjointed. In this one a new drug "Violin" is introduced and Harry's son is hooked. I love the character of Harry Hole and Jo Nesbo's writing style is excellent. I need to read the rest!

A very solid entry in the Harry Hole series. This one struck me as a little bit better written/plotted than the last couple that I've read. Finished a couple of weeks ago on vacation so apparently that's all I have to say at this point!
