This book was not what I was expecting.
The main girl always says no because of the emotional abuse from her ex and I get that but then she never sticks by her no. Like why are you getting jealous other girls are talking to him when you yourself rejected him twice? She kept him close enough that he would stay interested in her but not date him. Like Ann did with Justin from Parks and Rec. She put him on hold.
Girl, in the nicest way possible, seek therapy. This trope could’ve been done sooo well if given the effort but I feel like these characters were at their peak horniness and stupidness. I literally skipped paragraphs so that I could finish this book and I didn’t even miss anything. The ending was fine, I was just glad that I made it to the finish line. I was gonna give this a 2/10 because I really don’t like giving books 1 star when I know the author spent their time and effort into it but this book didn’t feel like any effort was put into it. Wattpad book at best.

π—§π—Ώπ—Όπ—½π—²π˜€: he falls first, hockey romance, nurse x patient, forced proximity, forbidden, found family, who did this to you

π—§π—Ώπ—Άπ—΄π—΄π—²π—Ώπ˜€: domestic abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, toxic relationships

The way Ash and Bridget meet at the hockey game is really nice, it's just a shame that Bridget's ex is a jerk. After this meeting, Ash can't get her out of his head, but due to an unfavorable event where Ash suffers a serious injury, he is sent to the hospital. Where do you guess who works there?

Exactly, Bridget is a nurse, his nurse in particular.

I really liked how Ash tries to ask her out on a date and she turns him down, and somehow the universe always brings them to spend time together. As they begin to spend more time together, they begin to develop a "casual" relationship, but hidden from the world's eyes. Even more since her ex now works as an assistant GM.

Ash is very funny and charismatic, and his love for Bridget is sincere and pure. He felt first and hardest. He is a nice guy and is obsessed with her.

Bridget is a character you can relate to and is very likable, but she had a really bad experience with her ex, and she's not ready to come out of her shell after he made her feel discouraged and deprived of people who care for her. I loved seeing her grow from a shy and lonely character into one where she had friends and was starting to take steps towards a new relationship.

I simply loved this book! I have an idea about who the next book could be about, and I can't wait to see what else the author surprises us with.

Thank you Rebecca Jenshak and Valentine PR for the opportunity to read this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.
