Boring plotline. The emergence of the Sea King, the reintroduction of Sonic, and the jail subplot was quite boring. I saw very little of Saitama and as a result, Genos appeared as the prominent figure in this volume but it was dull.

Rating Update 4/7/19- 2 stars to 1 star. I did not like the Sea King part of the volume and the meteor section was alright, hence lowering the volume rating to 1.

Update 11 June 2019
With the adoption of my new rating system, a one star rating is befitting. The original rating, original review, and rating update from April 7, 2019, conform to the new rating system. The first two chapters on the meteor, rated at two stars, cannot raise the volume to two stars because of the rest of the chapters that focus on the long drawn out battles with the sea monsters.

Rating Update
One star to two stars. The first reason for raising the volume's rating is because I am unsure if the memories in the June 11, 2019, update are valid, original memories, and not memories conjured while reading the wiki.

While conducting this rating update, I reread the wiki pages on the chapters to rekindle any memories but I was unable to. My second reason for raising the rating is because I must abide by the original review's contents. The amount of times "boring" is mentioned in the original review leads me to believe that the book cannot be rated higher than a two star-rating, but to lower it to one star is implausible. Boring does not necessarily equate to dislike. It is safest to assume that I had a two star-rating reception.

It should also be noted that in the June 11, 2019, update, there seems to be a difference of rating between the "first two chapters on the meteor, rated at two stars" and the "rest of the chapters that focus on the long drawn out battles with the sea monsters". Assuming that the latter chapters mentioned are rated at one star, both the two and one star-rated segments are an equal half of the volume (supposing that the chapters are equal in length). I only mention this to negate the notion that necessarily the majority of the volume is one star-rated. Either way, I cannot rely on the note from the update on June 11, 2019.

As much as I loved the numerous two page spreads and the meteor chapter, some of the fight scenes weren't that interesting, Genos STILL hasn't have a chance to shine, and Puri Puri Prisoner bothers me A LOT. Also, Sonic was captured, put in prison, and he was in prison for, what, ten minutes? Seriously, what was the point of that? Especially going into such great detail about the prison only for him to immediately break out. It's also starting to get on my nerves how weak the other heroes are. I know the point is to show how strong Saitama is, but for fuck's sake, can some of them have maybe one, two badass moments? Please??

A good volume, but definitely the weakest so far.

One star knocked off for ambivalence about puri puri prisoner. On the one hand, he is an offensive stereotype and the gay panic is pretty egregious, even for shonen manga. On the other hand, I desperately want to be him in every way. So like I said... ambivalence.
