I can see this appealing to middle school boys. Sadly, that's not my demographic. It was disappointing and not amusing.

I read the first tw0-thirds of this book to a 6th grade class and then school ended and I finished it by myself. I think it's hilarious and I will definitely want to read this to a class next year so I can finish it.

Now don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, inventive, and amused me the entire way through. I think what threw me off was that it was either to familiar (between friends and my mirror I am pretty sure I know who the Dark Lord actually is). I think in the end it lacked a preteen voice. It was definitely written to be enjoyed by parents, at least those with a dark twist of mind.
Highly amusing though. The Dark Lord gets sent to Earth, cursed into the body of an 11 year old boy. Hijinks ensue.

Fun book that puts the mind of a Sauron-like character into a young English boy. Pretty much consistently enjoyable, although it does get close to "cheating" near the end, but well worth the read.

Loved the conversation in this book! The tenor of Dirk Lloyd's speech was awesome! As a mom and educator loved the transition Dirk was making to become a kinder, gentler Dark Lord. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series and see what happens to Sooz! Very funny story!

The Dark Lord has fallen to earth and has been cursed to live in the body of a 12 year old boy. Can the Dark Lord or Dirk Lloyd survive among the humans and figure out a way to get home to the Dark Lands? Or is any of this real? Is it just his mind playing tricks on him.
The Dark Lord was a fun read. Dirk or the Dark Lord was funny and deliciously evil. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
This book is on the Maine Student Book Award nominee list for 2013-2014. I think the boys will really enjoy it.

I'm going to refrain from rating this, because I am SO not the market for this novel. It wasn't bad.
