I was definitely intrigued when I saw this book on my Kindle Prime shelf. I had been caught up in the Crossfire series after reading the Fifty Shades Series and wanting something slightly similar. I was immediately caught up in this story and even more excited when it started referencing Eva and Gideon. About 25% of the way through, I felt like I was missing pages. Time was passing but wasn't clearly how much time, and this was happening in the middle of chapters. I loved the mystery behind Teagan and Garrett. There really wasn't a whole lot of background on either and the tidbits that were given made me want more. Roxy and her husband, Mike, started out as solid, likeable characters that slowly disappeared from the storyline-for people that are so important to Teagan, why would they be gone from her world? I also didn't quite understand their reaction to some heartbreaking news that Garrett shared-was there a connection? A similar loss?
Then just as the plot twist happened, the book was over. I feel myself wanting a full length novel-not just a novella, and slightly disappointed like I have been cheated. Looking forward to maybe at some point diving back into Teagan and Garrett's world for more answers.

I wish i could say i enjoyed this, i really do.
It is well written. The plot moves well. The characters have good chemistry and have a way of meeting that almost hits you like a speeding car.
Unfortunately, it cuts a bit to close to home for me and sadly, many moments of it left me reeling.
You see the premise is of a woman suffering with depression, and a man who has lost a child. Having been through such a thing myself, it is difficult to enjoy, even though the situations were different. Also, having been through it first hand, the empathy and strong feeling of the male lead were somewhat in contradiction to my own stony isolation. Then again, we all handle personal tragedy differently so don't mind me.
The ending also through me somewhat. You see, you're never actually told where the heroine's depression stems from but it is suggested it's due to her recent divorce. This is thrown out the window by the ending and it's all so hastily done, it just leaves me wondering WTF?.
That being said, a good read, but rather lacking on the steamy scenes that made Bared to You so memorable. It does have them, but they're few and far between.

From being a huge fan of Eva and Gideon, this book another direction, instead of all that need its more of a soft and tender love between characters, the heart - wrenching twist at the end caught me a bit, but other than that the story was a little blah for me... wasn't bad, just wasn't up to my expectations with this author, my crossfire books are an all time fave so this was a bit of a letdown as its so different to what i was expecting.

Liked this standalone better than the crossfire saga. Wanted more on Cary. Love him.

Love that it ties to the Crossfire Series, however… alone it’s still an easy read.

After overcoming a turbulent time in her life, Dr Teagan Ransom is content in her surroundings; a waterfront home she adores in a picturesque area of Seattle. With a job she loves, she couldn't be happier. That's until her next-door neighbours unexpectedly sell up after an offer they couldn't refuse and the new owner makes his presence known…

Garrett Frost is a man on a mission and what he wants he gets...

First a confession...this is my first Sylvia Day novel!

Second confession...I had to read this book twice before writing this review because the twist at the end had me screaming expletives in a 'what the hell' way.

Most of the frustration I had with this novel is due to how the protagonists, specifically, Teagan act and behave around each other. It definitely makes you scratch your head and think about what is going on in their heads. I also didn't connect with either of them in the same way as Garrett and Teagan didn't 'click' as a couple despite what we find out about them and the steamy scenes they share.

The best part of the narrative is the twist because it definitely triggers a reaction and makes you think about what you've read to that point. In some way, it answers a couple the questions I was pondering along the way. It explains Garrett's full-on, 'I won't take no for an answer' possessive attitude towards Teagan and the speed at which they became a couple. However, it's Teagan's behaviour throughout which still remains a mystery.

I didn't have any expectations before I read Butterfly in Frost, therefore, I'm neither super elated or disappointed with this novel. Fans of Ms Day will appreciate the mentions of Gideon and Eva Cross within the narrative.
