The main characters were so unlikeable & everything felt sloppy and rushed. Only half of the book is spent actually hiking the mountain - which is what I signed up for. I gave it an extra .5 because Elizabeth knows how to write a good spicy scene.

this book was so good it’s convinced me that climbing Kilimanjaro is a terrific idea

Sister’s ex-boyfriend is a forbidden romance trope that doesn’t get the attention it deserves, so when I saw Elizabeth O’Roark was releasing a book with it, I couldn’t resist.

This was a fun read, I love it when I read a book that makes me feel like I’ve lived a different life for a moment and in this case I learnt so much about hiking up Kilimanjaro…with your sisters ex boyfriend who happens to be your “enemy” that you’re gonna share a tent with for nights on end.

Even though it was an angsty read, I’d say it was on the lower side of the scale. It was more about the FMC realising the man she thinks she “hates” is actually her method of deflecting her real feelings.

If you love a protective, “let me have your back when nobody else does” kind of MMC I think you’ll love this book.

Also, the next book being a stepsiblings romance has me so excited I need it now.

This was a lot of fun, but the pace/timing felt a little off on occasion. No one does yearning quite like this author though, and I am a YEARNER.
