Cada vez estoy mas convencido de que Zweig no tiene libro malo. En este se puede apreciar la sensibilidad para describir eventos, efectivamente transcendentales en la historia de la humanidad, y aun asi arreglarselas para dotar a los personajes conocidos mas que todos por libros de historia, un grado de naturalidad exquisito. De las 14 miniaturas narradas, sin desmerecer ninguna, sobresalen, Ciceron, conquista de bizancio,el descubrimiento del dorado y el momento heroico, pero eso es mas por el gusto que por la calidad cada uno tendra sus favoritos.
