Dark and humourless.
Everyone is called Thomas.
That is a bit weird.

This is an excellent story. The ways the Syndicate opposes the League in powers, the brutal lengths both sides go to, and most of all, Luthor being awesome. The art is amazing, the action and drama are intense, and we get progression from characters that usually don't get any.

Better than Trinity War. This was fun, first and foremost. Story had some holes in it. Art was OK, nothing spectacular, thought it picked up at end.

Good comic, good story, with a couple of panels that looked strange and dialogues that didn't convince me completely, but I liked it a lot. You will certainly start looking at a certain villain with different eyes after reading this.

Book: Forever Evil
Author: Geoff Johns
Source: Ebook

On the whole I enjoyed it. As you would imagine, the villains from the other world were interesting if not a bit trivial. They're almost polar opposites from the real Justice League, What made this story more interesting was seeing how the villains dealt with their own self interest while sill managing to save the world (whereas normally, they would be the ones destroying it).

I'm probably not the best person to review this as reading comics is a casual thing on the side aka. I have not kept up to date with everything.

I have to admit that I'm way behind in my New 52 reading so this was a bit of a confusing read for me.

In Forever Evil, an evil version of the Justice League known as the Crime Syndicate conquers Earth and takes out our own Justice League. The defeat of the superheroes that Earth is used to relying on means that some rather unlikely "heroes" have to come to the rescue, led by none other than super/evil genius Lex Luthor. Luthor unites other villains who have no desire to live under the heel of the Crime Syndicate as well as the few remaining heroes that have yet to be subdued (including, of course, Batman) and takes the fight to the new supervillains in a battle for the Earth.

I'm generally a fan of Geoff Johns and despite my confusion with parts of the story (not sure if they're plot holes or are just explained in New 52 stories that I haven't gotten to yet), it was a pretty entertaining story. I enjoyed getting to see more of Luthor who becomes a bit more nuanced as an anti-hero than I'm generally used to seeing him. The interactions between him and Batman were particularly interesting. As a hardcore fan of Bats, I loved that he was one of the few heroes (and the only JLA member) who managed to escape the trap. It seemed so typically Batman, particularly his back-up plan for dealing with the evil JLA members.

I think if I'd been caught up on New 52 before reading this, I would've been a bigger fan. As it is, I can really only recommend it as an interesting twist on having the villains as heroes and an entertaining story in general.

It's a crazy idea, but it makes sense. If the world is destroyed there's nothing to "control" or profit from. So we've got Lex Luthor leading a team of super villains and Batman against the Crime Syndicate, basically an evil Justice League from another dimension that has been destroyed by some even more threatening entity.

Good stuff and pretty brutal, seeing as those villains don't have a problem with killing people and neither does Luthor. BUT Luthor does seem to grow a conscience, almost as if saving the world has made him realize there's something else he wants - adoration.

Tiene sus momentos pero en general es bastante tostón. Sigue un esquema muy simple, no esperes nada nuevo aparte de la típica ida de olla de Geoff Johns, que al principio hacía gracia y ahora ya cansa.

Interesting idea that was pretty well executed. "What if the bad guys had to be the good guys?" And the concept is followed through pretty well. Ultimately the art is fine, but not stunning. The story was good but not as compelling as I had hoped. Still worth the read.
