Initially I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the plot however it does become an immersive read. Marked down a star as I struggled to believe in the relationship between Gen and Carmen

Ann Patchett has a magical way of making you feel compassion for even the most evil of characters. Bel Canto - which means beautiful singing - lives up to its name. The sentences intertwine with vivid imagery and depth. A book I will not be able to forget.

beautifully written but painfully slow. was a slog at times since they’re in the same place for nearly the entire novel. a tale about beauty, love, music, talent, tragedy, and coincidence. ending was wonderful but could’ve come 150 pages earlier.
