bit of an unpopular opinion but this is for sure my favorite TJR so far (yes, i genuinely think it is better than daisy jones and evelyn hugo) and i'm very annoyed that i put it off for so long thinking it wouldn't hold up
Wasn't sure what to expect going in. But novels that start and end in one day story-wise intrigue me. So i took a chance on this one and loved every minute of it.

Reading slump over! I was immediately sucked into this story, which weaves together 24 hours in present day 1983 with the backstory of the Riva family. Like almost every TJR book I’ve read, this could make a great movie with its deep cast of characters and picturesque Malibu setting. While I immediately recognized Carrie Soto, I didn’t realize until after I finished that Mick Riva has been in multiple TJR books! Very clever thread through her seemingly distinct storylines.
