Such a great follow-up to The Guinevere Deception! I am still holding out hope for some action between Guinevere and Lancelot. So ready for book 3!

Thank you Netgalley and Random House Children's for my gifted copy. I read the first book with my friend for book club and when I saw this book available on Netgalley I couldn't help but get excited. My main thought after reading this book was, "how dare the book end like that." I can't wait for the next book.

Very slow, rather unconventional plot but ultimately satisfying and fun. I will read the sequel.

This very much felt like a filler book. Didn’t really do much for me, but I’m excited to see how the series wraps up.

Why is Guinevere not Guinevere? Like, what was the point of making her this whole changeling etc etc. Why not just have that be an alternate history for the real Guinevere?

What is with the Tristan and Isolde side quest? Who asked for this? It feels like a time waster! We have some actual drama and intrigue and we save a princess from a castle for….friendship?!

It gets so close to being interesting. And decides not too. Sometimes feels like court intrigue, sometimes feels like fantasy, never really succeeds in either. God, this is like SJM. Is this me deciding I should DNF Crescent City after now reading another series where I’m strung along by a single side character I care about?

Props for the love square, though. I love that Guinevere falls in love with anyone who smiles at her and vice versa.

But if I have to hear her say “problem solve like a queen” ONE more time 😤
