I read this book with my own kindergartener and found Ramona's mischief-making spirit and the scrapes she gets into very relatable. Both of us really enjoyed reading this.

Such a cute story. I'll have to revisit the series again. Stockard Channing did a fantastic job in narrating this audiobook. I was all smiles and giggles.

So stinking good, even as an adult. I remember eagerly devouring the series as a child, and this book was one of my favorites with Darling's spirited illustrations as a perfect accompaniment. So many of the events came flooding back to me as I read, from the dawnzer with its lee light to Ramona making angry heel prints on the wallpaper. It is evident that Cleary understands the thoughts of young children and she communicates them so well through Ramona's experiences, yet doesn't dumb the material down and uses advanced words throughout the story, which I greatly appreciated. A fantastic selection as the first chapter book to read aloud to my son.

I remember my third grade teacher reading this book to our class. I loved the description of Susan's boing-boing curls then and I still love it. Every little girl should read this series with her mother. Beverly Cleary really captures the heart of how children behave and how they feel with they are young. "The dawnzer song" was the best. Oh I just adore the Ramona series.

Better than the first book. Plot had more structure. Same great characterization.

I wonder at the publishing gap??? The first book was published in 1955 and this one is 1968.
