🥰 Friends to Lovers
🔮 Fantasy Rom-Com
🧐 Oblivious Mutual Pining

I’m pretty sure Arek and Matt are the definition of oblivious friends to lovers, throw in some slow burn mutual pining and it’s them.

I really enjoyed this book, the world-building and setting was written really well.  It almost gave off a contemporary vibe in a fantasy world.  Yes, there was magic and a king but it was easy and fun to read.  These are the kind of fantasy books I want to read more of.

I loved the vibes of this book, the friendships, the chaotic nature of some of the characters, the romance, and the humor.   It was so lovely.

Honestly? Screaming, crying, throwing up. This was such an enjoyable read from start to finish. The style is a little different to what I’m used to, in that it doesn’t take itself too seriously, but that in itself made it a lot of fun to read. The characters were all well-fleshed out with vibrant and distinct personalities; the romance was sweet and perfectly developed; and the humour leaked off every page. I’d never read a fantasy romcom before, but this totally sold me.

This reads basically like the aftermath of a DnD campaign. It's cute and funny. Pretty cozy, too. However, the miscommunication trope was a little bit much for me.

Very cute, very fun,
absolute disaster bi and disaster gay end game,
it’s like what happens after a d&d party wins a campaign. A fun concept, this is a really enjoyable, very easy read. The plot is easy to anticipate - I zoned out for a bit here and there and missed nothing with the plot, but I would go back because I like the writing. Plus, there’s lots of great low key rep (ex. A non-binary character is introduced just as “this is blah, they’re from blah” and everyone just rolls with it and it’s awesome). Overall a very enjoyable read, I’d recommend!

Very sweet, very funny. Hilarious take on the hero trope, especially for me as a DND player.

Having such high stakes for such young characters made me.. uncomfortable. I wish there had been a loophole in the enchantment rather than simply straightforwardly fulfilling it.

Aside from that it was a perfectly lovely story. The slow burn was torturous, the writing was beautifully flippant, the worldbuilding was complex enough to be fun without overshadowing the romance. I loved the conceit of starting after the adventure, but I came to love the characters so much that now I want a prequel.
