There were many elements of this book I enjoyed. First and foremost the suspense was part high-octane part unveiling ‘the mystery’. Claire, the heroine was well developed and I was taken in by her journey and her strength of character. The story line was both intriguing and well developed. I did however have problems with two things. First – Ms. Jennings continually repeated the same issues again and again. I really hate it when an author tells us the motivations behind a characters actions over and over and over again. I got it the first time. There is no reason to keep repeating it. That really drives me nuts.

Second – I had a bit of a problem with the hero – Daniel Weston. I found his ‘lust’ for Claire to be a bit over the top. Now, I’m all about the lust – absolutely, but keep it in context please. It must be hard to write a romantic suspense and find time for the romance. I mean bullets flying, dodging terrorists, or diffusing bombs pretty much comes with the territory. So when are the hero and heroine suppose to find time for romance? It’s a fine line to walk. There were some successful moments in this book – and not so successful moments.

Given all that, I did keep turning the pages and enjoyed the suspense part as well as the HEA.
