Surreal and dark, with hope at the end. Beautiful, evocative illustrations.

Fantastic. Describes what it is like to be depressed/anxious beautifully. And it also captures the feeling of the moment when depression and/or anxiety lifts and there is hope. Gorgeous illustrations.

4.5 stars. The illustrations aren't my style but the message made me cry...

I’ve bought and given away so many copies of this perfect book.... if you need to explain depression, this is it.

WOW! What a great book about difficult feelings and hope. Simple language and stop-you-in-you-tracks evocative pictures make this a real standout.

Such a beautiful piece of art. This may be a picture book, but it's by no means a kid's book. It's about keeping your chin up, looking for the beauty in all situations, even the depressing ones. Hope will be there- your red leaf of hope is always there.

Thank you, Sarah, for buying me this.
