I pretty much know what I'm going to get when I read one of Northcote's books and I'm so okay with that.

The premise is predictable but I liked watching serial-one-night-stand(er) Owen succumb to lurve. Who knew he had it in him?? He sure didn't.

This was fun with excellent UST, flirty banter, and just the right touch of not too angsty feels. Cap it off with some sexy smex and most will enjoy this easy read. I sure did.

Could have been a really great premise but the dialogue was just... so... average... sorry.

This was a bit of a let-down. It was a bit hard to connect the emotions since we really only saw the five dates and not a whole lot of what went on during the in-between time. We know they talked, but we didn't see it.

We didn't get a whole lot of insight into what they were thinking as the 5 weeks went by either. So it was hard to make that connection. I feel like there was a lot of detail missing that would have helped build the relationship beyond five dates.

I liked the premise of the book and it started off pretty well. But...
Spoiler
The 5 dates' rule - broken

Not enough angst tbh... The one "fight" (obstacle they faced) they did have, resolved within 12 hours
Lack of mystery, on what the characters would do, choose - too obvious

It was a quick read, however, so I suppose it's fine. I did like the book, but it had the capability of being loved and it somehow just didn't get there.

I still recommend though if you're looking for something easy, fun and quick. Kind of like the characters/premise of this book:

SpoilerEasy - yes. Both of them are way too easy.
Fun - they were cute, and the whole "no, not happening" was fun while it lasted (we could all see it disintegrating quickly though)
Quick - just like the thoughts of keeping their dates "chaste"... right out the window

As always, I loved it!

Your stories are so well written, pulling me in from the get go. The characters are warm, love-able, hot and exciting.

I look forward to reading all of them.

took a long ass break from this book, but wanted to finish it because it was like 60% done already & like yeah I need the read count for my reading challenge.

I liked it. probably would have given 4 stars a year ago, though 3 stars might be appropriate based on how I judge books now. I'll go with 4 & give it 3.5 (might lower it later).

going to wait for the sequel to get discounted, though I need to check the price anyway.

I casted Landon Conrad (from gay porn circa 2010-12) for Nathan & the illustration on the cover for Owen. the illustrated man still makes me drool... ;-)
