This book changed me! Every 5 star book I have ever read has now been dropped down to a 4 star. This book was a work of art. The point of view choice was unlike something I have ever read.

OMG it's really good! An amazing book. I won't try to force it on anyone, but it is a delightful book that everyone should read. Sure, there's a bit of language, as in cursing, but not much more than you hear everyday (if you go to Brittany Woods.)

I liked this book, but didn't love it. I actually thought it was quite depressing but maybe the best books aren't the ones with a happy ending. It definitely has you on the edge of your seat, as do most books set in the time period of Nazi Germany which have always caught my attention. I think it's because you feel as though you are there with the characters hiding out in a bomb shelter or acting like nothing is wrong when truly there is so much.

Again another book that was really hyped and is on almost every bookshelf on booktube turned out to be crappy.
I did not get the writing style in this book tho i did understand the story but still i would have liked it if it was written in a way that was more suitable for every reader. It just wasn't it for me.
Though its is not the worst book i've ever read but then again wasn't really interesting either.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was beautifully written and a lovely telling of a child in the middle of awful situations.

Liesel gets adopted at the beginning of world war 2 when she is so young she barely knows what’s happening. Her adoptive family tries to give her everything they can but as the war progresses so does their poverty. She helps them do odd chores around the neighborhood. Her adoptive father has never been fully on board with the nazi party. He doesn’t fully agree with them but knows he cannot speak out against them as Hitlers reign intensifies. But his hesitation to join the nazi party put a target on them making their life more difficult. Liesel is trying to love a normal life without getting in trouble. All of which is made extremely more difficult when she meets her first in person Jewish person who her family decides to help.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster. I feel like a lot of old historical books have some boring moments but the way this book was laid out prevented that from happening. Also the fact that we all know what happens to make this emotional like 100 pages before but still cry our eyes out speaks for itself. There isn’t really any “shocking” moments because they are all spoken of and then explains how we got there. Either way this book was moving, emotional, and very impactful. I loved it and it is definitely a must read.

It's ridiculous how much I enjoyed this book. I didn't get to read it as quickly as I wanted to, but I hated putting it down even for an hour.

I'm not going to lie...I cried...often...

There was so much emotion. I fell in love with almost every character.

I don't think any book is going to be perfect, but this one is definitely very good. I was a bit uncertain at the beginning. I almost changed my mind about reading it, but I'm glad I didn't.

There were parts that were predictable. And I got so flustered whenever the narrator would spoil parts of the story several chapters ahead. But I think that's the point...The Book Thief isn't just about the girl...the book is also being stolen from you.

Still...I would recommend this book. It is beautiful.

This is by far one of my favorite books I've read. I think the perspective from death is very unique, and the story of this girls life is unbelievable and gives perspective from the people living on Germany during WWII was needed. Overall, this book is a great read.

Haunting story with such an elegant final line.
