I read this first book (out of three) last and it was the best.

This reads like fan fiction which I wouldn’t mind if I was ya know… a fan
Things about this book that gave me the ick (sort of spoilers):
-character walking in on someone naked (like first page too)
-“baby girl”
-main character is a clown?? Ok John Wayne
-man noticing woman’s beauty after she has a glow up
-the fact that woman thinks she needed a glow up for a man
-virgin who gets absolutely pounded during first time but it doesn’t hurt bc she just likes the guy so much ?? Sure Jan
-sex in public places WHERE WAS THE LIMO DRIVER WHILE THEY WERE GETTING FREAKY IN THE BACK
-dude gets a boner every 3 pages
-public declaration of love
Also characters are so flat and boring and feel like they didn’t exist before this books plot, there is some back story but it’s glossed over. All the characters are super condescending and FMCs family does not care about her, which made the whole protective brother stance feel disingenuous. There is fake dating in here too which I only like if there is actually a good reason. Third act break up was so odd and over dramatic for what. This books is pretty smutty though if you are into that!
Sad I bought the 3 book set bc I really don’t want to waste my money by not reading the remaining books but also do I want to go through this again?

Somebody please please remind me to never read a Tessa Bailey book ever again (except my next read is literally a Tessa Bailey because I already bought it and have no choice)
I truly enjoyed Hook, Line, and Sinker, so I wanted to give Bailey another chance. However, the possessiveness, the dirty talk, and the GODDAMN babygirl had me rolling my eyes.
Thankful I had my paint by numbers to do while I listened to this because otherwise I would had never finished it.

A very familiar mutually-beneficial-contractual-“pretend”-dating-turned-true-love story.

Deducted a star for the use of “baby girl” as a pet name but cute overall.
