Took me a little while to get into this book. Not sure if I personally was just not in the mood to read it or if the book just didn't grab my attention. About midway through though I was hooked and had to keep reading until I finished it.

I just can’t do this trope with this author. I’ve tried three books by this author, and it’s always a struggle to get through. The writing is good, but I just never like the heroes.

This book is one of my all time favorite Lexi Blake books! Liam and Avery have a sweet and steamy love story. It is the classic story of a man finding redemption and a women finding her strength! The McKay-Taggart team head to London in search of a terrorist. This book has twists, romance, action and humor. Liam and Avery are one of my all time favorite couples and if you have read the first two books in the series it is great to read about Liam finding love.

When you read this series too close together, you could almost write the story yourself. The formula is so cheesy and predictable. This book was particularly awful, mostly because of the way Avery is treated. Here’s the set up. She was in a horrible car accident, lost her husband and young daughter. She’s spent the last 10 years of her life learning to walk again. Her leg still gives her trouble and she falls quite a lot.

Liam is a self-stated manwhore.
He’d spent his twenties fucking his way across three continents, and she’d been a bloody nun.
He goes on to give the readers an excellent taste of what kind of man he is.
She wasn’t the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. Not even close. He’d been with so many lovely women, younger and thinner.
He’s going undercover and knows he will have to seduce Avery as part of his job. I’ll already pissed at him and wanting to protect Avery.

But we all know what’s going to happen. He seduces her, falls for her and then pushes all her sexual and personal boundaries for her own good, ya know, cause he’s such a gentleman. He takes her to a sex club where he gets her naked and parades her around, asking her to keep kneeling despite knowing how difficult her leg pain is. Every time he told her to kneel, I wanted to punch him. Long strory short, she finds out the truth, is completely hurt and asks him what he first thought of her when he met her.
“Fine, I thought you were a little overweight and uninteresting…”
Wow, I guess points for honesty. Also this quote had me rolling in laughter.
Blood was meaningful, but it didn’t necessarily make a family. Love and friendship made families too. And lubricant. Lube might not make a family, but damn, it was going make it so much easier for him…
I'd go on, but you get the drift. 2 stars because I managed to finish it and I actually liked Avery's character even though she has horrible boundaries and taste in men.

Liam O'Donnell has a dangerous, complicated past. Avery Charles in the administrative assistant to a philanthropist with a deadly secret. When Liam is assigned to romance Avery to find out of her boss using his charity work to smuggle contraband, he doesn't realize that he's found true love. But can Avery survive all of the secrets and betrayals in her life?

This is my favorite of the early Masters and Mercenaries book. Liam is a little too egotistical and can be a jerk sometimes, but his relationship with Avery builds up her self-confidence and self-esteem in a really great way. She helps calm and center him, too. Not sure I'd be able to forgive someone who lied to me the way that he did, but that's why this is a romance novel and not reality.

A Dom is Forever is the third book in Lexi Blake's "Master and Mercenaries" series and I have loved and adored this series so far. Now I would like to mention that it does have a strong element of BDSM while balanced with a edgy suspense plot. Its always so interesting to see how this series has grown over the years, and I am far behind in this series, but I do want to get caught up. I have been impressed with the BDSM elements that Lexi Blake incorporated within her stories. In A Dom is Forever we have a story of suspense, mystery, secrets and some sexy kink to intensify the story just a bit and Lexi Blake does it with her style that gravitates you toward her writing even more.

We don’t know who we really are until we meet the people we’re supposed to be with

I want to deliver this review the way that it should be written. I have found that this story while it was entertaining, had its fun quirky moments, also didn't stun me either. It was quite easy to immerse myself into the writing that Lexi Blake displays here, but at the same time, it was more of a light appetizer and didn't deliver on deep emotional feels like I expect to find in my romances. It could have been my mood at the time of reading this one, or it also could have been just the zone I was in at the time, but this one just didn't quite stun me as I was expecting, as the first two books in the series did. I wish that this book had a higher outcome for me, but alas, it didn't. I found the plot quite intriguing though. I really enjoyed the hero posing under another identity while secretly trying to discover if she was good or bad and a villain like her boss. I found this element quite unique and I do wish there was more focus on this aspect. It seemed to be almost sugar coated and had a feeling of being "barely there" so you might have even missed it if you weren't paying close enough attention to it.

I got a body covered in scars, but then who doesn’t? If you don’t have a few scars, you haven’t really lived.

Overall I found A Dom Is Forever to be a delightful mix of danger, secrets and smexy kink. It will definitely be a fast paced quick read that will take you to the city of London and offer a lively respite from reality.

Finished Reading April 1, 2016

I still say the titles for these books don't do them justice. Filled with mystery, suspense and tons of action. It is a well written Adult Romance. But it is so much more than that. It s a great 'Cloak and Dagger'.
This one takes place in London, England. The McKay-Taggart agency, the CIA and MI6 are all involved. The bad guys are involved in arms trafficking. They are mean and dirty.
Liam and Avery, the lead H/H in this story, are fantastic to read about. Their chemistry and interactions are spot on! All the supporting characters are also well written. The interactions all through the story keeps you on your toes.
I thoroughly enjoyed book #3 The Dom is Forever. It was much better than book #2.

#3 of the Omnibus 1-3
