The Boss Situation is book three in the Billionaire Situation series, and let me tell you...WOW! I totally couldn't put it down! If you enjoy enemies-to-lovers, this one absolutely nails it. The banter between these two is SOOOO GOOOD! It was sharp, witty, and just plain fun.

I could feel the chemistry between these two from page 1. Whether they were throwing shade at each other or doing things lovers do ... it was off the charts!

I completely fell for both Asher and Billie. I loved their individual stories and watching them navigate their complicated relationship was just so enjoyable. There were a few plot twists sprinkled in that totally caught me off guard which is always a bonus! If you haven't started the Billionaire Situation series yet, trust me, you are seriously missing out on some fantastic reads!

This book is the literary equivalent of a Reddit AITA thread with the verdict being that “Everyone Sucks Here”, but make it enemies-to-lovers with stilettos, billionaires, and a splash of suspense.

Billie and Asher have history, and not the cute, nostalgic kind. Think: academic rivals turned workplace nemeses who can’t be in the same room without unleashing emotional warfare and sexual tension so thick you could slice it with a Jimmy Choo heel. Did I love the characters? Eh.

The first half was pure petty chaos. The hate was hating. The vibes were toxic. But whew, did it take its sweet time getting to the lovers part. Like, glacial pacing. I had to remind myself this was a romance.

Things picked up steam in the second half—finally! Secret relationship? Check. High-stakes drama? Double check. A stalker subplot and an unhinged ex? Why not throw in a royal while we’re at it? It gave just enough tension and spice to keep me invested, especially with the setup for the next book (Brody, I see you and I’m ready).

While the story sometimes felt more like a bridge to the next installment, the emotional payoff, once it landed, did land. Billie and Asher’s story may be messy, but it’s a reminder that love doesn’t always start soft. Sometimes, it’s born from fire—and Lyra Parish knows how to bring the heat.

Swoony Lines:

“You’re never alone, princess. Not as long as my heart beats.”

“I would burn the world to ash for you without apology—because the glass slipper only fits one princess. And that’s you.”

I received an ARC copy and wanted to leave an honest review.

This story is dual POV, well written, and a fast-paced, banter-filled, contemporary enemies-to-lovers romance. I enjoyed Billie’s grit, perseverance, determination, and focus. I enjoyed Asher’s repartee, and the contrasts of different elements of his personality and history revealed through the story. I struggled with the enemies-to-lovers part - it’s really not my favourite vibe and I never became immersed in the story. I appreciated the happy ending, and enjoyed the steamy intimate scenes. I enjoyed the setup for the next story in the series. If enemies-to-lovers and billionaire romance are for you, this is a great story.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Did I completely ignore work so I could read this book? Yes I did, was it worth it? One Hundred percent. Asher Banks and Billie Calloway give new meaning to Enemies to Lovers and watching them hate each other will have you rooting for both to get what they want! The book quickly jumped up to my #1 favorite Enemies to Lovers, the writing was pure perfection and the storyline fits right into the Billionaire Situation Series. I can't wait for more books in this series!

❤️‍🔥The Boss Situation by Lyra Parish❤️‍🔥

Lyra has done it again! I am officially OBSESSED with this series! If you're a sucker for a billionaire, enemies-to-lovers romance where the main characters are ACTUALLY enemies, you need this one on your TBR like yesterday.

This is the third book in the Billionaire Situation series, however it stands strong on its own, offering the perfect blend of humour, passion, and emotional depth. If you're a fan of layered characters and dynamic storytelling, this is an absolute must-read.

💥 The tension? Perfect.
💼 The power struggles? Addictive.
💘 The emotional payoff? Chef’s kiss.

Lyra makes it so hard to pick fave characters and I just end up obsessed with them all haha! She brings the spice, the slow-burn, and the enemies-to-lovers magic that romance readers like myself just eat right up!

Thank you so much to @lyraparish for sending me an e-book copy to review - I am beyond grateful! 🙏🏻 obsessed with this series and CANNOT WAIT for the next one! 😍

If you're looking for a love to hate, enemies to lovers with all the banter, this is it! Billie and Asher are everything and more and far exceeded my expectations for an enemies to lovers trope. It gives The Hating Game vibes with an MMC you learn to swoon over.

Tropes
🌟 Enemies/rivals to lovers
🌟 Hate that I love you
🌟 Sassy, strong FMC
🌟 Stubborn MMC that matches her energy and doesn't back down
🌟 Billionaire romance
🌟 Misunderstood FMC
🌟 Some angst/suspense
🌟 Cliffhanger (for other characters involved)

As always, I'm excited for the next book being for Brody and Harper because he's broody self has captured my attention since book one and once you find out why.. ugh...
