Was not my favorite of her books I have read, but it is still good read. There is a lot of humor and a bit of intrigue.
My favorite quote from the story made me think of the Swiffer commercial!
"Shifter justice was swift. Shifter cleanup even swifter."
I enjoyed this story about Arik and Kira and I am looking forward to reading about Hayder and Arabella. One thing for sure, it will make me laugh. That is one of the reasons I love Eve Langlais books so much.

Billionaire CEO and Alpha Arik is the king of his castle. He prides himself with all things that are him especially his mane. When he shows up to get his regular haircut he finds out his regular barber is out of town and takes a chance on his granddaughter. Arik calls it like he sees it and he finds Kira stunning and goes about telling her in a way that has Kira rolling her eyes at his arrogancy. Arik is not to be shrugged off and continues his wooing the way he always does but instead of ending up with a date she mangles his hair.
Arik decides she has earned punishment, in fact she can serve as his mate for ever after. Of course he did not expect Kira to take the news quietly and with her crazy ex chasing after her, Arik decides to protect her as only an Alpha can.

Arik dan Kira sudah ketemu dan berinteraksi sejak halaman pertama tapi sayangnya karakter mereka terlalu standar dan tidak digali secara mendalam. Karakter utama, Arik seperti alpha dominan pada umumnya, posesif, congkak, menganggap remeh wanita, dan tidak bisa ditolak. Karakter Kira lebih menarik, dia tak bisa ditebak, keras kepala, penggoda tapi juga cukup tangguh sebagai manusia. Gadis ini kelihatannya cukup lihai untuk mendisiplikan seekor raja hutan congkak menjadi sejinak kucing rumahan dengan senjata mulut sarkastis, tekad kuat dan semangat melarikan diri yang sangat besar.
Well, aku pecinta buku-buku paranorm dan kupikir ini adalah buku debut karena tipis dan mengangkat tema yang super duper ringan. Tapi si penulis ternyata produktif, dia sudah membuat hampir 5 series dengan berbagai tema (dari shifter, alien sampai cyborg) dan beberapa standalone yang mungkin totalnya lebih dari 20 buku. Dan ini hanyalah series terbarunya.
Novelas ini seperti keripik bagiku, ringan dan tidak cukup mengenyangkan disaat aku membutuhkan dosis real paranormal story. Sebagai novela erotis, 3 scene panasnya cukup panas. Chemistry dan emosi para karakternya tidak terasa. Hubungan Arik dengan Beta dan Omegany juga agak kekanak-kanakan. Minimnya halaman juga lebih banyak di dominasi oleh roman h/h, padahal aku berjarap besar pada konflik antar klan shifter dll dll yang lebih berat. Karena ini series baru aku juga berharap banyak pada buku pertama untuk bisa memberi latar belakang dan penjelasan mengenai latar belakang dunia shifter versi sang penulis.
Pov orang ke -3 yang dipakai penulis sering tercampur dengan inner conversation tiap karakter yang memakai Pov ke-1, karena tidak dibedakan dengan font atau huruf miring seperti umumnya. Awalnya kupikir ini typo. Porsi narasi juga sebenarnya bisa diganti dengan percakapan, karena banter yang ditulis sebenarnya lucu dan enak dibaca.
So far ini romance berbalut lapisan tipis paranorm dengan parutan erotica secukupnya. Dan ini tidak membuatku kenyang secara batin.

It was an ok romance but these shifter books are starting to feel the same always claiming there mates. Its like if you read one you read them all. The sex can be a little spicy at times but beyond that it was just an ok book.
Please focus more on the story then all about the claiming an individual.

Arik is a very egotistical, cocky & arrogant man. This does not change in the book, he knows it but he thinks that is what makes him wonderful. Yes, as Alpha he needs to be strong, but he over does it. He does lighten up later, but he is still cocky & arrogant.
Kiara, knows nothing of shifters and is confused by lots of comments made by all involved. She is in for a big surprise near the end!
Kiara, not really wanting a relationship finds herself in one anyway. Try as she might to get away, she is drawn to Arik.
I do look forward to reading book 2 and more from Eve Langlais

This is one I downloaded free ages ago. I’m glad I didn’t pay for it. It was way too fluffy for me. The heroine is a hairdresser who gets angry at the hero and hacks off a hunk of his hair. In the first chapter. Ten minutes after meeting him. He was being arrogant and a jerk, true, but the sheer unprofessional-ism of the act just flat killed the book for me. DNF

This was a fun shifter romantic suspense. Gotta say that Kira seems like a trouble magnet, but at least she had the good sense to get a lion to fall for her before her warewolf ex tracked her down! Happy Reading!
