I read this book, as an adult, to prepare for a reading group in a 4th grade classroom. I think it might be a decent read for that age, but I wasn’t extremely impressed. Some of the language used in the book felt outdated. While I do think the author meant for the main character to be unlikeable, I found him to be completely insufferable.

I enjoyed reading this book (actually, I listened to it on Audible), and I would probably recommend it to others who enjoy Gordon Korman's writing style. It's no Ungifted or Unteachables, and the storyline is incredibly predictable, but Korman develops his characters in a way that endears them to me.

This one was more clever and sinister than I was anticipating. It involves

hypnosis, money laundering, and an illegal alligator farm

. The book is marketed for ages 8-12 but I think 10-15 is a better target audience.

I really enjoyed the audiobook. The book has several narrators, and each one was voiced by a different actor.

I listened to most of this book on a road trip, and the fun/interesting story helped my driving time pass quickly. This is my first book by Korman (excluding his 39 Clues contributions)

Why did I pick this on up? 🐊 That cover alone sold me, not even going to lie! Then I saw this was the same author from my childhood who wrote the island series!

This book was so good! Am excellent kick off first summer read! Summer shenanigans, found friendships, lots of laughs and a meat eating "lizard". What more could you ask for?
