My friend got me to read this saying it was her favorite. We typically have the same opinions and tastes. But I wasn't crazy about this book.
First off, Dillion the douchebag! Seriously? If any man treated me that way I would have been out the door without a second glance. Secondly, it was obvious he was cheating before the author wrote it out. Third, I didn't get one redeemable quality vibe off him at all, he "was"; was being the stressed word; kind to Emily in Colorado. Nothing after.
Now to Emily. She's naive and a little too immature for me. I lived how she couldn't forgive Gavin for Gina, but could easily go back to Dillion after literally catching him in the act. Get a grip! And let's not even mention how Gavin relentlessly chases Emily.
I liked a lot of things about this book. But I disliked a lot too. I had the way Olivia seemed to enjoy bringing out the worst in everything. I think my biggest hang up was the fact they instantly fell in love. Don't get me wrong I can understand instant passion. But not love.

I rolled my eyes a lot reading this one. I didn't enjoy the randomly swapping character point of views and the female lead was annoyingly weak for a female author. Not awful, might try the next book. Didn't LOVE it.

Great read and hard to put down. Read it in 2 days. My emotions were every which way. I hate that it ends in a huge cliff hanger because i don't want to have to wait for the next book to come out. I really felt for Emily and Gavin and hated what Dillion was doing to Emily. Makes you see how people can get sucked in and feel vulnerable and how they feel they might owe a person. Gavin is relentless and I love his Character. I can't wait to read the next book and find out more of Emily's story.

Gavin Blake has ruined me for all other book boyfriends. There are no words to express my love for this book, or it's follow up, Pulse. I love, love, love this story. I have re read it at least 3 times, and most likely, will not stop there.

I am on some weird steamy romance novel kick. This was a fun read, a “Fifty Shades of Grey” inspired romance without the kink. The main characters are part of upper crust New York. Growing up less than a mile from a trailer park in Indiana, I felt like they behaved more like drunken and angry rubes on a Friday night. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the book. The follow-up is not as good. With the right editing the two books could have been one banging read. Excuse the pun.

I really don't know what is up with all this books with damaged heroines who are poster victimes. I draw really hard lines in some subjects and abuse is one of them.
