Med and had to give it away. But my French wasn't good enough as it is, I was really struggling with keeping my attention span.

What a weird story.
This isn’t the first book by Albert Camus I’ve read, but I don’t remember being as perplexed with The Plague like I felt with The Stranger. Maybe the absurdity hit different this time around. I do think the last chapter in the book is probably the best one. Exploring religion more thoughtfully and what waits for us after die. I do think the setup for the ending is just a little ridiculous, and I didn’t want to be pretentiously lift up a book because Camus is on the cover.
The book really does embody the idea of “If you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for everything.” I can’t believe that someone is so passionless about life as the main character. If there was a little more evidence of emotion besides just a shrug for everything, I would have enjoyed it more. Maybe that’s the point of the book.
