I liked it. It was cringe at times but I ate it up. I think I’m just dumb or maybe I missed it but they only told us the colour of her eyes 98 percent into the book. The plot was easy to guess but I ate it up anyways. I’ll definitely read the next book. 3.75 stars

Takes from Twilight, Hunger Games, and Throne of Glass, but just read those books if you want any of their tropes. Book had an interesting concept but it didn’t really pay off imo. Most of it felt surface level and I agree with the numerous comments pointing out the many plot holes.
I rated it 3 stars because it was a quick, mindless read and was interesting at times. The only problem is that it wouldn’t stay interesting and I would quickly become annoyed by the writing. (It feels wrong to blame the fmc for being stupid lol, most of her flaws are the author switching up her character or thinking that a scene would work when it doesn’t to the reader.)
I need to get this relatively minor detail off my chest that I couldn’t help but be annoyed by when it came up: In Huntyr’s opening fight scene with another Phantom assassin, she beats him by focusing on his weakness for relying on his weapon. However in Moira, the only thing she does is rely on Venom, the dagger Lord gave her. Like I get that she apparently needed to still appear weak to not draw attention to herself [even after it was pointed out on numerous occasions that everyone was paying attention to her anyways for associating with Wolf (and being pretty ig 🤨)], but even her internal monologue showed only a reliance on the dagger and having seemingly no other combat skills.
