Such an incredible addition to the A:TLA universe and an excellent origin story for Avatar Kyoshi. The whole book really felt just like I was watching a season of Avatar, the authors did an excellent job fitting the world of Avatar while also making it new and exciting. I was also thrilled with the romance between Rangi and Kyoshi, it was not too heavily focused on but was still so genuine and beautiful. Just an amazing book!!!

I enjoyed the start of this book but as it went on I got less and less interested in what was happening. The writing felt awkward to me and I just didn't really vibe with the story overall so I guess that's it for me. I did like Kyoshi's character however, and the worldbuilding too. The author did a really good job of translating a cartoonish world to reality. It felt grittier and more realistic than the show, but at the same time I could tell it was very much the same universe.

I loved ATLA and this book was everything I wanted it to be.
Graphic: Death
Much better than I expected...
...and I had high hopes. Adventure, intrigue, hope, loss. Well rounded characters. A very worthy successor to the Avatar name and I look forward to the next one.

This book is simply amazing, I was a little hesitant to read it at first, but I was blown away by the story and the way its written. If you like the Avatar universe you HAVE to read this one.

I really enjoyed this book! Kyoshi's development throughout was great and I am excited to see how it continues in the sequel.
